TIVERTON — A man is in Rhode Island Hospital after being shot by officers following a domestic dispute.
Tiverton Police Chief Patrick Jones confirmed there was an officer-involved shooting late Wednesday night after a call of a domestic incident that involved a weapon.
"When the officers approached he had a rifle and pointed the rifle at the officers. They shot him twice," Jones told The Herald News.
Jones said the victim is in stable condition in the ICU.
Any charges are pending.
The incident occurred at 222 Pelletier Lane. According to town property records the home is owed by Robert Paul and Scott Banville.
