Hockey: Australia take the lead against Canada
Australia's women have taken the lead in their opening qualifying game, leading 1-0 at half time.
So the men do get a second go, but they've clocked a time of 44.205 and that is only good enough for third. No clean sweep for Australia tonight as the gold will be between New Zealand and England.

Disaster in the men's team sprint
Not sure what's happened here - the Aussies stumbled out of the blocks and finished second last of the eight, but they may be awarded a re-run. We'll see.

And England DO just pip New Zealand to second, and will race Australia in the men's team pursuit final later tonight. The women will race for gold at 7:37pm before the men at 8:19pm. Next up, team sprint qualifying!

New Zealand have finished their run, and slot into second, ahead of Canada but a couple of seconds behind the Aussies. England are still to come, but Australia are locked into the top two and will race for gold in both the men's and women's team pursuit events tonight.
