Film team in trouble for remarks on audience

Director of the Kannada film Rajaratha, Anup Bhandari, is in the news for the wrong reasons, 13 days after the release of the film.

What has got him and the rest of the crew in a spot is a promotional video that has now gone viral. In the video, when Mr. Bhandari and actors Avantika Shetty and Nirup Bhandari are asked what they would call people not interested in watching Rajaratha, they use abusive words. The issue has since reached the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.

KFCC president Sa. Ra. Govindu urged the cast and crew to apologise to the audience for “insulting” them. Mr. Bhadari has now stated that it was not their intention to hurt the audience and that the entire crew was apologetic for the comments.

Mr. Bhandari’s previous film Rangi Taranga created a record of sorts in film marketing and bagged eight awards at IIFA.
