Militants abduct father-son duo in Bandipora: police

Militants of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) abducted a son-father duo in north Kashmir’s Bandipora on Sunday night, according to police.

“A group of militants belonging to the LeT, accompanied by a local militant, barged into the house of Abdul Gaffar Bhat and took him and his 24-year-old son, Manzoor, with them around 11:45 pm on Sunday,” said the police spokesman.

Gaffar, who is a shepherd by profession, managed to escape after sustaining firearm injury. “The police are in the process of tracing the abducted person,” said the police.

The police claimed a local militant, Mohd Saleem Parrey of Hajin, is the “main conspirator”.

A youth was killed and three family members injured on April 3 in the same area. "The LeT's same group was behind it," the police added.
