New Delhi: The government's head-hunter Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Sanjay Kumar Moitra for the post of Director (Onshore) at state-run petroleum explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).Moitra, who is currently an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Onshore, if approved will replace V P Mahawar who retired in February this year.
Moitra is a Mechanical Engineer from Jabalpur University and has completed a course in Advanced Management from Cambridge University in UK. He had joined ONGC in 1982.
He has held multiple key position at the company over the last 35 years including Executive Director (ED)- Asset Management for Bassein and Satellite fields, Group General Manager (Well Head Services, Offshore), General Manager (Production) and Surface Area Manager for North Field of Mumbai High asset among others.
A total of six candidates from the company had appeared for the selection process including three Executive Directors -- A J Morbale, Suresh Jandial and Anand Mohan -- and two Group General Managers (GGMs) V K Mahendru and Narendra Asija.
