‘Japan visit an excellent opportunity’

Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Wednesday asked students to hone their skills and develop their knowledge in the fields of science and technology in tune with changing times and society. The students, who were selected for the Sakura Youth Exchange programme being conducted in Japan, met the Minister here.

Interacting with them, Mr. Rao said that the students have to understand the expertise and talent which the Japanese have in the field of science and technology. The technology was backbone for economy and development of any country.

‘Useful programme’

The youth exchange programme would help in exchange of information among students of Asian countries. It was an excellent opportunity for the young scientists, he said.

G. Arundhati, who is studying Intermediate at AB Balayogi Gurukulam, Visakhaptnam, T. Anusha (AP Balayogi Gurukulam, Vangara), S. Janapriya (Malli, Srikakulam), K. Sai Sandeep (10th class, AP Nagarjunasagar), T. Vandana (Edulavalasa,Srikakulam), D. Hemalatha (Kosuru, Guntur) were selected for the programme. They will visit Japan from April 8 to 13.
