TV journalists' body condemns FIR against TOI's Srinagar reporter

| Apr 5, 2018, 06:37 IST
The Kashmir National TV Journalists' Association has condemned the FIR against TOI correspondent in Srinagar M Saleem Pandit for his report on incidents of attack on tourist vehicles on Sunday.

In a meeting held on Wednesday, the association said, "It (the FIR) amounts to attack on the freedom of press. If there is any complaint against a reporter, self-regulation within the journalistic fraternity should be encouraged. Authorities can take up matters with Press Council of India."

The association also said: "Journalists in Kashmir are working under tremendous pressure. Still they maintain high credibility of factual reporting. The government attack on the freedom of press can't be supported."
