Best, who was at the Manchester United icon's bedside when he died from liver disease in November 2005, denied the claims.
He told police the couple had become obsessed with him because of his famous older brother.
But he was found guilty of grievous bodily harm and assault causing actualBodily harm by a jury at Taunton Crown Court in Somerset.
According to a witness, Best punched Ms Barker so hard that her "head went back", before he then broke her partner's ankle.

She had injuries to her eye and Berry's ankle later needed surgery.
Both Best and his stepson, James Palmer, 23, were on trial for attacking the couple, but Mr Palmer was cleared of two charges of assault.
Best, of Torquay, was bailed and will be sentenced next month. He started up a first-aid Best, 51 training company in 2011.
