Airtel TV, the popular video streaming app from Airtel, will offer its users unlimited free streaming of live action and highlights of the upcoming Vivo IPL 2018 via Hotstar, the company said in a media statement on Wednesday.
In February, Airtel had signed a content partnership with Hotstar to offer its subscribers more than 100,000 hours across live sports, movies and television shows across 9 languages through the Airtel TV app.
The new version of the Airtel TV app comes with a dedicated cricket section designed to bring a highly curated experience to users in addition to all the live action.
“We are thrilled to add the unlimited live action from the upcoming IPL to our content catalogue. Airtel TV app users will not miss out on even a moment’s action of the biggest cricketing extravaganza and can enjoy it on-the-go wherever they are,” Sameer Batra, CEO (Content & Apps), Bharti Airtel said.
Airtel TV users will be able to select and follow their favourite teams, keep up with ongoing matches, leader-board and go through the upcoming schedule, all without leaving the Airtel TV app. There will also be special scorecard notifications to ensure cricket is only a peek away for users.
The new version of the app will also pack in interactive games and contests with exciting prizes to be won.
