VIJAYAWADA: While the Opposition YSRC has already announced that the party MPs will go on fast-unto-death on April 6, the day the Parliament will be adjourned sine die, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, in a bid to steal YSRC’s thunder, has come up with an announcement that he, along with the Left Parties, will take up a padayatra (walkathon) on April 6 demanding Special Category Status (SCS) as well as fulfilment of other provisions in the AP State Reorganisation Act. Now, the question remains as to what the TDP will do after the adjournment of the Parliament?
As Pawan Kalyan will hit the road for the first time, it will send enough warning signals to the Centre which cheated the people of the State as well as the State government, which failed in safeguarding the interests of State, said the Left party leaders.
Despite Pawan Kalyan not hitting any political party hard during his press conference after meeting with the leaders of Left parties leaders at his party office here on Wednesday, he claimed that he was the first person to suggest to the political parties from Andhra Pradesh to move the no-trust motion against the Centre.
“I was the first one to announce an indefinite fast for the cause of SCS,” he said, After chalking out the future course of action to pressurise the Centre to grant SCS and fulfil other assurances made during the state bifurcation, along with Left Parties for about three hours, Pawan Kalyan said that he will participate in the padayatra in Vijayawada will stage protests in their respective places across the State on national highways as well as at the arterial junctions in their respective districts.
Terming the process of adjourning the Parliament continuously without debating over the no-trust motion as a conspiracy against the people of AP, he opined that it would have been better if Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu initiated the process of pressurising the Centre well in advance instead of now.
Maintaining that his remarks of corruption against Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh were not vague, the actor-turned-politician said, “What I said against the minister was nothing but what people are thinking about him.’’
