Former Prime Minister and JDS chief H D Deve Gowda today met Chief Election Commissioner O P Rawat and filed a complaint against the Siddaramaiah government accusing it of ignoring the model code of conduct for the May 12 assembly polls in the state.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Gowda said he has drawn the attention of CEC to the actions of some officers, which were "detrimental to free and fair elections."
"I have informed the Election Commission about the conduct of some officials. Election process should be transparent. So, I have expressed my grievances," he said.
"I have told the commission about certain interferences in the police department," Gowda said.
Yesterday too, the JD (S) leaders had submitted a memorandum to the election commission alleging misuse of government machinery.
They had also raised doubts about the extension of tenure given to chief secretary K Ratna Prabha.
