Khandagiri police here on Wednesday seized ganja worth over Rs 15 lakh from two persons. One of the accused was carrying the narcotics weighing nearly 152 kg in a luxury car.
"We seized the car, whose price would be not less than Rs 20 lakh. The driver,
Suryakant Mansingh, has been arrested. He was transporting ganja on the behest of the vehicle owner, who is on the run," said a police officer.
Mansingh was transporting ganja from
Begunia in
Khurda district to
Banpur.
In the second crackdown, Khandagiri police arrested Sheikh Isak with 110 kg of ganja near Baramunda bus stand.
