Very early on in my relationship with my wife, Carolyn, I learned two things: we both shared a love of live stand-up comedy, and if I ever shouted out again during any performance she would leave me.

It was fortunate, then, that when I went to see Matt Forde’s first gig in his latest tour, whimsically and knowingly entitled, “Hastily Re-written In Light Of Recent Events – Again!”, I was accompanied by a fellow Labour Party member instead.
