Wanted criminal arrested from Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: Notorious criminal Jodha Singh, who was wanted in multiple cases of carjacking and chain snatching, was arrested by Chandigarh police on Thursday.
Jodha, 24, was arrested by a team of police, from Chandigarh in Punjab.


Three of Jodha’s accomplices, including his brother-in-law Amrik Singh, were also arrested in the Chandigarh police’s operation.


A police officer said that one snatched swift car, a country-made pistol and live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused.


On February 6, Jodha Singh had escaped from police custody from near Khanna in Punjab when a police team was returning after producing him in a local court in Faridkot.


Sources revealed that after fleeing from police custody Jodha and his gang had committed seven robberies at gun point in Punjab and Chandigarh.
