Physical Infrastructure Development Minister of Karnali Province Khadka Bahadur Khatri’s vehicle was vandalised in Surkhet today morning.
Students agitating against the arrest of Mid-western University Free Student’s Union Vice-chairperson Aditya Bikram Shah vandalised the vehicle.
They damaged the windscreen of the vehicle that was on the way to the minister’s residence to pick him up, according to Surkhet Police Chief SP Uma Prasad Chaturbedi.
Though province lawmaker Dharma Raj Regmi was in the vehicle, he did not suffer any injury.
Students studying engineering at the university have launched the protest putting forth a list of five demands. Irate students have also padlocked the university as well.
Earlier, students affiliated to Nepal Students Union and Free Student Union and the students aligned to CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre had clashed over the demands.
