Five people, including a J&K Bank manager, were booked for selling a piece of land in Srinagar on the basis of fake documents prepared by them for the purpose, police said today.
The Crime Branch has registered a case against five people for preparing fake papers of the plot of land owned by Sunil Kumar Thusoo, a resident of Rangil in Ganderbal district, an official said.
An FIR was registered against Manzoor Ahmad Burza, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Farooq Ahmad Ganie, Navin Singh Sambyal, Anoop Bhat, the Manager of J&K Bank Residency Road branch, Jammu, and others, he said.
The accused had opened a bank account and received Rs 50 Lakh from Haji Gulzar Ahmad Reshi, of Lal Bazar (Srinagar), under the pretext of sale of the land measuring nearly 4 acres in Danihama area of Srinagar, the official added.
