Despite lots of sunshine, temperatures really struggled today. Add in the wind, and it was not feeling much like April out there. Fortunately, those gusty breezes do die off this evening. We also have a chilly night ahead, but tomorrow will be near and even a bit above normal for once.

Through Tonight: Winds die down this evening. Although clouds are moving in, they are mainly high-level and rather thin. This shouldn’t keep temperatures from falling all that much. As such, we see a range of near 30 in the coldest spots to around 40 in the city.

Tomorrow (Friday): I think we end up largely or fully dry during the daytime, but we will be dealing with a lot of clouds regardless. There’s a surge of warmth ahead of the next cold front, with most spots heading into the mid- and upper 60s for highs. The risk of showers increases as we get through the evening, with a cold front and some snow on the way after that. More from David on those details.

Ohio tornadoes: It has been a relatively quiet severe-weather season so far, although it’s a little early to make too much of that, and there are signs that things may change in the next week to 10 days on that front. In the meantime, at least five tornadoes have been confirmed in Ohio from storms there on Tuesday. It was part of a larger system that produced widespread severe weather from the South into the Ohio Valley, including at least 21 reports of tornadoes, many of which have yet to be confirmed.
