Europe: Stocks rally at open

A BUS depot foreman cheated his employer SBS Transit out of more than S$200,000 in a scam involving payments for technicalwork.

[LONDON] Europe's major stock markets rallied in opening deals on Thursday, after a bounce on Wall Street and across most of Asia, as trade war fears eased.

In initial deals, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major blue-chip companies jumped 1.4 percent to 7,134.47 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index won a hefty 1.6 per cent to reach 12,153.61 points, while the Paris CAC 40 leapt almost 1.5 per cent to 5,216.68 compared with Wednesday's closing level.
