Andhra Pradesh: Principal Secretary Vijayanand to head Southern Regional Power Committee

VIJAYAWADA:The Central Electricity Authority of India (CEAI) has selected Principal Secretary (IT), K Vijayanand, who is the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of APTRANSCO, and MD of APGENCO, as the chairperson of Southern Regional Power Committee (SRPC) for the 2018-19 fiscal year.

In a communication sent to Principal Secretary (Energy), Ajay Jain, on Wednesday, the CEAI informed that a resolution was passed in this regard. Expressing happiness, K Vijayanand said that a special emphasis would be laid for facilitating the stability and smooth operation of the integrated grid.
Welcoming the initiative of CEAI, Energy Minister K Kala Venkata Rao said that AP has been in the forefront in providing qualitative power services. “Efforts are on to bring transmission and distribution losses under 3 per cent,” he said.
