Opposition continued to stall proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament in the pre-launch period today in support of their demands. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till Noon and the Rajya Sabha up to 2 PM amid noisy scenes.

Displaying placards, AIADMK members in both the Houses, trooped into the well demanding immediate constitution of a Management Board for Cauvery River Water distribution.

Telugu Desam members have been demanding special category status to Andhra Pradesh. As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, the agitating members came to the well raising slogans.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House till Noon.The similar situation also prevailed in the Rajya Sabha forcing Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to adjourn the House till 2 PM immediately after administering the oath of office and allegiance to two newly elected members to the Upper House.
