Twitter Inc. TWTR, -0.19% issued its biannual transparency report Thursday, and the company said in a related blog post that it has suspended 1.2 million accounts for terrorist content since August 2015. Twitter said that 274,460 accounts were suspended for terrorist content in the second half of 2017, down 8.4% from the previous reporting period. The overwhelming majority of those suspended in the second half of 2017 were flagged by internal tools, and 74% were suspended before ever tweeting, according to Twitter. "We continue to see the positive, significant impact of years of hard work making our site an undesirable place for those seeking to promote terrorism, resulting in this type of activity increasingly shifting away from Twitter," the company said in its blog post. Twitter shares are up 1.6% in Thursday trading and up 98% in the past 12 months, compared with a 13% for the S&P 500 SPX, +0.76%
