Met Dept issues warning of hot wave conditions

The Met Department has issued warning of hot wave conditions in Guna, Sheopur, Hoshangabad, Ratlam and Datia districts in the next 24 hours.

The temperatures have started to soar and the highest day temperature of the season which was 41 degrees Celsius was crossed and the day temperature at 43 degrees Celsius was recorded on Wednesday.   

The highest day temperature of the State was recorded at 43 degree Celsius in Khargone and Hoshangabad. Bhopal recorded day temperature at 40 degree Celsius while the night temperature was recorded at 22.4 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday around 14 places recorded day temperature above 40 degree Celsius. Most of the places in the state recorded day temperature around 38 degree Celsius.

The major cities witnessed hot and humid weather conditions. Indore recorded day temperature 39.4 degree Celsius and night temperature at 20 degree Celsius, Gwalior recorded day temperature 41.5 degree Celsius and night temperature at 20.4 degree Celsius and Jabalpur recorded day temperature 38.9 degree Celsius and night temperature at 20.9 degree Celsius.

The day and night temperatures would be recorded around 40 and 22 degree Celsius respectively. The weather conditions would remain dry in the next 24 hours.

Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain divisions recorded significant rise in the temperatures in the past 24 hours. Rewa and Jabalpur divisions recorded temperature near normal temperature.

The Met officials told that light to moderate thundershowers are likely to witness over Sagar, Narsinghpur, Chindwara and Ganjbasoda.

Feeble Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and a cyclonic circulation extending over Punjab and adjoining north Pakistan is present.

A trough over northeast   Rajasthan, West   Madhya Pradesh,   western   parts   of   Vidarbha   and Marathwada is present.
