Punjab: Brick kiln owner shot at during carjacking

SANGRUR: A brick kiln owner sustained injuries after unidentified miscreants opened fire at him during a carjacking bid near Khauriyan village.

The incident took place late on Thursday when one Ashok Kumar was returning home from his brick kiln.


The bullet hit him in his stomach and he was rushed to the Government Rajendra Hospital in Patiala. His condition is stated to be critical.


The police said that the miscreants immediately fled from the scene with Ashok's car. Police said that police teams in the adjoining districts have been alerted about the incident and various check posts have been put up at strategic points in trace the carjackers.
