FALL RIVER — Police arrested a Fall River woman accused of brandishing a handgun during a neighbor dispute last week on New Boston Road.

Heather Nolette, 28, of 138 New Boston Road, is alleged to have been carrying a loaded silver revolver when she confronted a woman who was arguing with Nolette's boyfriend's mother around 9:45 p.m. on March 28, according to police reports.

Nolette and her boyfriend's mother told police that Nolette never pointed the weapon at the neighbor, and went back inside her residence when the boyfriend's mother told her to go  upstairs. Nolette subsequently left the scene in a vehicle to pick up her boyfriend at work, and was stopped by police on Middle Street, according to court documents.

The incident occurred while Nolette's boyfriend's mother-in-law and a neighbor were arguing about an unlocked gate at their apartment building. The victim told police that Nolette threatened to shoot her if she kept threatening the boyfriend's mother. The revolver was kept in a safe that belonged to Nolette's boyfriend, who is a security guard at a local hospital, according to court records.

Nolette, who does not have a license to carry a firearm, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of ammunition without an FID card and carrying a firearm without a license. Arraigned March 29, she was released with conditions that she have no contact with the victim and have no possession of firearms.
