Telangana, Andhra Pradesh governments asked details of dues to be paid under LA Act

HYDERABAD: A division bench of Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the TS and AP governments to examine the report submitted by the registrar general and file full details before the court regarding the amounts due to be paid to the landowners under Land Acquisition Act.

The bench of ACJ Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K Vijaya Lakshmi was dealing with a taken up case based on a letter by Mahabubnagar district judge G Venkata Krishnaiah.On earlier occasion, the chief secretaries of both the states submitted reports explaining the number of cases pending for compensation and the quantum of amount and time required to pay compensation in pending cases. As for TS,1669 EPs were pending and an amount of about Rs 458 crores has to be paid towards compensation, and further said that the dues would be cleared in six instalments from April to Dec 2018.

While comparing the information furnished by both the state governments with the information obtained by registrar general, the ACJ commented that there was a huge variation between the information furnished. The bench granted two weeks time for the counsels to correlate with the information and submit full details.

The bench was passing the order in a PIL filed by R Sandeep Yadav, a city resident, seeking strict action against the nursing home
