CUDDALORE: Starting April 7, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagham leader TTV Dhinakaran would organise agitations in districts, through which the River Cauvery flows.

The protests would be held in districts from Dharmapuri till Nagapattinam and in collaboration with farmers' organisations in the respective districts.

A total of 10 districts would be covered during the protest, to be held between April 7 and 27.

Dhinakaran was in Cuddalore to attend the wedding of a party functionary in Old Town. He also hoisted a party flag at Aalepettai check-post.

Addressing the media later, he criticised the incumbent AIADMK government saying that it was functioning under the mercy of the Central government and that rights entitled to the State were being denied.

People expected an unbiased attitude from the Centre, which was not happening, he noted. Delay in constituting the Cauvery Management Board clearly showed the attitude of the Centre, which was acting in a biased manner. It was trying to assume power in States and create a division among them, he said.

Though he welcomed the protests carried out by the Opposition in the Cauvery issue, he said that only the DMK and its alliance parties were invited to a meeting for this purpose and that not all opposition parties in the State were called.
