KATHMANDU: The first session of both the houses of the Federal Parliament was prorogued on Tuesday.
At the end of Tuesday’s meeting, Speaker of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara read out a letter sent by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari announcing the prorogation of the House session, which had started on March 5.
Mahara said the Lower House conducted its business for 15 hours and 30 minutes spread over 11 meetings, during which Interim Rules of Procedures was endorsed, elections for the posts of speaker and deputy speaker were held and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli won the vote of confidence.
Four ordinances were also approved.
