The Kerala government today transferred Thiruvanthapuram sub-collector Divya S Iyer, IAS, to the post of Deputy Secretary in the Local self-government department.
A decision to this effect was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, official sources said.
Though officials said the transfer of Divya, wife of Congress MLA K S Sabrinathan, was a routine one, her shifting comes in the wake of an allegation that she had transferred about 27 cents of government land to a private individual violating norms.
Sabarinathan, son of late Congress leader G Karthikeyan, has said the charges made by CPI-M MLA V Joy, were politically motivated.
A probe by the Land Revenue Commissioner into the matter is going on.
