Shocking... Yob throws a trolley onto main road
THIS is the moment a reckless youth threw a shopping trolley from a bridge onto a busy dual carriageway. The youngster, thought to be aged between 14 and 16, can be seen struggling as he tries to get the trolley above the railing of the footbridge
He then puts lives in danger by dropping it over the other side onto the main road, before running away with an accomplice who filmed the incident.
Police are now hunting the two youths from the video, which was shared online on Snapchat.
The incident occurred in Exeter, on a footbridge above the busy A379 near an Ikea store.
It was reported to Devon and Cornwall Police at 7.20pm on Monday evening after the footage was shared online.
Police sent a unit to the scene but found neither the hooded youth in the footage, nor the trolley.
One concerned mother who viewed the clip said the falling trolley “could have killed someone”.
Police confirmed they were aware of the footage, which has been shared on a community Facebook page, and said the incident had been reported to them.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “We are looking for one youth, aged 14 to 16, who was seen throwing a trolley onto the carriageway from a bridge.
“He is described as wearing a grey and black top with the hood up and trainers with red stripes on their sides.”
