Lakhan Jarkiholi to stay in Congress

Says he will not contest against brother Satish Jarkiholi

Lakhan Jarkiholi, young leader from Gokak, has announced he would not join the BJP and that he would stay back in the Congress.

Lakhan Jarkiholi, the younger brother of district in-charge Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who had caused a flutter by saying he would join the BJP to take on his brother and former Minister Satish Jarkiholi in Yamakanamaradi constituency, has taken a U-turn.

At a Congress workers’ meeting in Gokak on Wednesday, Lakhan said he would not join the BJP even if they promised to make him the Chief Minister. He also announced he would not contest against his brother. “I will work in Yamakanamaradi and ensure Satish Jarkiholi will win,” he said.

He gave no reasons. AICC secretary Manikam Tagore, Ramesh Jarkiholi and other leaders were present at Wednesday’s rally.
