Watch: Student Driver Crashes Through DMV Window During Parking Test

Video from a Connecticut DMV showed a student driver with a learner’s permit crashing through a window of the building during the woman's driving test.

Surveillance footage from inside the Waterbury, Connecticut, Department of Motor Vehicles branch from Tuesday afternoon showed the 46-year-old woman attempting to back into a parking spot. But when she accelerated instead of braking, the woman and her driving instructor plowed through the front window of the DMV and into several waiting customers, WVIT-TV first reported.

Two people standing inside the building suffered minor injuries as a result of the failed driving test, and one driver was taken to nearby Waterbury Hospital, Connecticut State Police confirmed to Newsweek. The driver and the DMV inspector inside the car were not injured as she plowed through the front entrance to the building.

The building landlord for the property at 2210 Thomaston Avenue responded to the accident immediately and boarded up the shattered window and glass. Photos of the aftermath on social media show gawkers staring in disbelief at the Toyota sedan parked half inside the building and half in the bushes outside the building, the “Student Driver” sign clearly visible on the back of the vehicle. Two stunned customers inside the building at the time of the accident told WTNH-TV they were "horrified" and several people began "panicking" in the moments immediately after the car smashed through the glass.

Several photos also show onlookers and police uprighting two “No Parking Any Time” and “No Parking Inspector Driver Testing Only” signs destroyed during the doomed driving test.
