Mumbai: Jet Airways on Wednesday said it has signed a new order for 75 more Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, taking the total order for such aircraft to 150.
Jet, which has 120 aircraft—comprising of Boeing 777-300 ERs, Airbus A330-300, Boeing 737s and ATR 72-500/600s—had in 2015 placed order for 75 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes.
“Our new order for the additional 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will allow us to deliver a differentiated and world class customer experience to our guests,” Jet Airway’s chief executive Vinay Dube said in a statement.
According to a Bloomberg report, Jet Airways’ latest order (for 75 aircraft) is valued at $7.2 billion to $9.7 billion based on list prices for the 737 MAX narrow-body family, before discounts.
Jet Airways didn’t specify the variant of the Boeing 737 MAX it has ordered.
“These additional Boeing 737 MAX airplanes will help Jet Airways continue to be an industry leader by combining a superior passenger experience with reliable and efficient operations,” said Dinesh Keskar, senior vice president, Asia Pacific & India sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
