A 56-year-old Coleman woman was killed Tuesday evening when she lost control of her car on icy roads and collided with an oncoming pickup truck in Midland County.
Kathleen Pomranky was driving on West Saginaw Road, west of North Alamando Road in Warran Township, when the accident occurred just after 7 p.m., Midland County sheriff’s officials said in a press release.
Pomranky was driving a Pontac Torrent that hit a Ford F-350 pickup driven by Nathan Harsh, 42, also of Coleman.
“She lost control of her vehicle on the icy roads and crossed the centerline into the
path of a westbound pick-up,” officials said.
Pomranky was taken to Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland where she was later pronounced dead.
Harsh and his two passengers were not injured in the crash.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and air bags deployed in both vehicles.
There is no evidence that drugs or alcohol played a role, but final reports will be forwarded to prosecutors for review, officials said.
