SOMETIMES IT takes a collision of images to virally pierce the popular consciousness.
Take the mash-up video by Deadspin video editor Tim Burke, who told The Washington Post’s Paul Farhi that Sinclair Broadcast Group has, as Farhi writes, “turned its many local newscasts into a national megaphone for its corporate views.”
Burke’s video stitches together anchors from 45 Sinclair-owned American stations all reading from the same distributed script, warning of how “fake news” is “extremely dangerous to our democracy.” The video drew much media attention and even sparked a tweet from President Trump voicing his support for the Maryland-based Sinclair.
