Cape Town - The Range Rover/RR Sport shot to the top of the luxury SUV market after tough start in 2018. The Range Rover did not make it to the top 10 in January and barely scrapped in during February. In March however it's fortunes changed as its tops the sales chart.
Over the course of March 2018, 177 buyers took ownership of a new Range Rover/RR Sport, followed by the BMW X5 on 171 units.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 was third with 136 units.
Jaguar Land Rover takeover
The newly launched Jaguar E-Pace also sold 136 units, ahead of former top luxury SUV, the Toyota Prado, with 119 models sold. The Land Rover Discovery slips below the 100-mark with 94 units sold, but still outsold the Range Rover Velar (72).
Jeep’s Grand Cherokee sits in eighth place after 52 units left the showroom floor, a single unit ahead of the Range Rover Evoque (51).
Former Car of the Year champion, the Volvo XC90, completes the top ten with 39 units.
