A 44-year-old man had to undergo brain surgery after being knocked unconscious by another man at the Perth Cultural Centre in Northbridge on Easter Sunday.

Photo: WA PolicePolice media Alice Cockram said a man was walking with a group of three or four friends through the area in the early morning hours and he got into a fight with another man before his friends dragged him away.
Shortly after the man approached the 44-year-old man who was walking with a woman through the area and struck him to the side of the head.
The man fell backwards to the ground and lost consciousness while the group of men including the attacker left towards the train station.
The alleged offender had dark collar-length hair, wore dark jeans with ripped holes at the knees, a black 'Diamond' T-shirt, white runners and a dark cap with white writing and a heavy link gold chain.
Police are seeking assistance to identify the man, the group he was with and any witnesses to this assault.
