Edyra "Edie" E. Henry, 82, passed away on April 3, 2018

Edyra “Edie” E. Henry, 82, of Towanda, passed away at her home on April 3, 2018.
Her family will gather with friends from 1-2 p.m.  on Saturday at the Towanda United Methodist Church, where her memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. led by Pastor John Martyn.  
Edie was born on Sept. 21, 1935 in Wichita, the daughter of William E. and Vernice (Henley) Sears.  Edie is a 1953 graduate of Eureka High School and attended Emporia State University.  Edie was united in marriage to Kimble C. Henry on Feb. 18, 1956 in Eureka.  She worked for several years for Hubbard Abstract in Eureka and later for Butler County Abstract until 1970 when she retired to homemaking, caring for her family, babysitting and home sales into her 60’s.  She was member of the Towanda United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.  She loved to volunteer to benefit not only her own children but others by serving as a Brownie leader and home room parent.  Edie was a master gardener with beautiful plants and flowers.  She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts and especially spending time with her family.  
Her loving family includes: her daughters, Karen (Bob) Trammell of Halstead and Laurie (Matt) Young of Towanda; grandchildren, Amy (Bryce) Boyd of Halstead, Ryan ( Tori) Trammell of Haslet, Texas, Kim Trammell of Wichita Falls, Texas, McKenzie Young of Wichita, Makenna, Michael, Maranda, Marcus and Maryn Young, all of Towanda, Rebecca (Alan) Billen of Lyndon, Kan.;  great grandchildren, Kylee, Conner and Hunter Boyd, Ben, Sean and Harlee Trammell, Gunnar Billen, and Matthew Hill; and brother, Byron (Carol) Sears of Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kimble; and brother Jim Sears.
