Charpali village: Man beheads wife, kills self

BARGARH: In a tragic incident, a man, identified as Bhubane Sahu (42), beheaded his wife Sebati with a sharp weapon before committing suicide in his house at Charpali village under Bijepur police limits in the district on Tuesday.

The couple is survived by three daughters and a son. Further investigation into the matter is on. Police have seized the bodies sent those for an autopsy.

Police was informed about the incident by Brundaban Sahu, elder brother of Bhubane. The cops rushed to the spot and found Bhubane hanging with blood stains all over his body even as his wife Sebati lay in a pool of blood.

Bijepur police IIC Prakash Karna said preliminary investigation revealed that Bhubane was mentally unstable and he could have committed the crime due to his mental illness.
