ANANTAPUR: Two persons were electrocuted, when they came in contact with a live electric wire at Arakatavemula village in Putlur mandal on Tuesday.

With two electrocution deaths, the rain-related death toll has gone up to six in the district as four persons died when lightning struck on Monday. SI Suresh Babu said Potturu Bala Rangaiah (20) and Chakali Obulapati (60) came in contact with a high tension electric wire when they were clearing garbage. The SI said that both the victims died on the spot. The 11 KV high tension wire snapped and fell on the garbage due to heavy gales on Monday.
