About two hundred students of Goa College of Art (GCA), Panaji have displayed their academic work in fine art, applied art, sculpture, audio visual, photography, portrait and print making at the annual exhibition on the college campus.
Principal, Goa College of Art, Altinho, Panaji, Mahesh Vengurlekar said: “We are having this exhibition since inception. But for the past few years it has gained stature and the best part is that there has been growing public participation.” He mentioned that eight schools visited the exhibition and that children should get such opportunities.
Apart from this, Kala Utsav- an inter-class programme was also held on the theme ‘Goa Film City’. During the week long Utsav, various cultural and artistic competitions are organised. “This programme encourages students to display their hidden talents in other forms of art such as dance, drama, etc” said Vengurlekar.
A special musical programme was organised for the alumni of Goa College of Art. All ex students were invited to attend the same and interact with the faculty and students and share their ideas. A special musical programme was also organised for the students of Goa College of Art.
(The annual exhibition will be open to the public till April 6 except Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
