The state goverment and the Army mutually appreciated each other for cooperation in the national interest at the annual Civil Military Liaison Conference (CMLC) held here today, an official statement said.
The CMLC was hosted by the state goverment this year.
While state Chief Secretary A K Shrivastava led the state government officials, the Army delegation was led by Major General NSR Subramani, GOC, 17 Mountain Division, it said.
The chief secretary, in his welcome address, hailed the Army for its contribution to nation building and appreciated its help during natural disasters, the statement said.
Shrivastava also appreciated the Army's cooperation during Kailash Mansarovar Yatra last year and earlier.
Srivastava also said that the state government is committed to welfare of army personnel, particularly, the pensioners and the war widows, it added.
The GOC too appreciated the cooperation extended by the state government since he joined office from January this year, the official statement said.
According to the statement, the GOC also said that he wanted frequent meetings between the civil and the Army authorities at different levels for resolution of pending issues.
The CMLC is an annual conference which provides a platform for discussions between the civil administration and the Army on many issues of mutual and national interests.
It is held every year, the statement said.
