Jet Airways up over 2% on aircraft pact

Jet Airways (India) flew over 2 per cent on Wednesday after the aviation player said it has entered into an agreement with Boeing to buy 75 B-737 Max Aircraft.

The scrip traded 2.67 per cent up at Rs 630.25 at around 9.50 am. It opened at Rs 623 and touched high and low of Rs 631 and Rs 618, respectively, so far. Benchmark Sensex rose 80 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 33,450 at around the same time.

The full-service carrier has a fleet of nearly 119 planes, comprising Boeing 777-300 ERs, Airbus A330-200/300, Next Generation Boeing 737s and ATR 72-500/600s, according to PTI.

The company reported passenger load factor (PLF) of 90.4 per cent in February 2018 as against 86.80 per cent a year earlier.

In a BSE filing, Jet Airways said, “This is to inform you that the company has entered into an agreement with The Boeing Company for purchase of 75 Boeing 737 Aircraft.”

InterGlobe Aviation, which runs Indigo, and SpiceJet were up 3 per cent and 1.50 per cent, respectively, in morning trade.
