VIT entrance examinations begin

The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2018, commenced on Wednesday. The computer-based entrance test will go on till April 15.

According to a press release, VITEEE is being held in 175 centres in India, Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and Qatar for admission to various undergraduate programmes offered by VIT at its campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravathi.

The entrance exam is being conducted for admission to 18 B.Tech and other undergraduate programmes offered at Vellore, seven B.Tech. programmes at Chennai, three B.Tech. programmes at Bhopal and four B.Tech. programmes at Amaravathi. A total of 2.12 lakh candidates applied with 33,319 applications received from Andhra Pradesh, 23,664 from Uttar Pradesh, 20,377 from Maharashtra, 18,937 from Telangana and 16,824 from Tamil Nadu.

The results of VITEEE 2018 will be released on the website – www.vit.ac.in by the end of this month, the release added.
