BHUBANESWAR: BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday sounded the poll bugle in Odisha and urged people to vote for his party.

Addressing a public meeting at Lal Bahadur Shastri stadium of Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, the BJP chief who is on a two-day state tour gave a clarion call to change the Naveen Patnaik dispensation here. Odisha goes to polls simultaneously with Lok Sabha next year.

Asking people to give BJP a chance to govern the state, Shah said, “For faster development, Odisha needs a government that moves shoulder-to-shoulder with the Narendra Modi government at the Centre,” he said.

“Odisha has everything. The natural resources here can fill the entire coffer of the country. There is plenty of water. Lord Jagannath is here. Farmers and youths here are industrious. The only thing Odisha lacks is an abled administrator. Only the BJP can provide an efficient government,” Shah said. On the second day of his visit, Shah is scheduled to address party workers in Balangir.

Taking an indirect dig at Naveen, who doesn’t speak Odia fluently, Shah said, “Odisha needs a leader who speaks Odia, understand the problems of people here”.
