Cedar Rapids-based Ruffalo Noel Levitz has named Sumit Nijhawan as its new chief executive officer.

Nijhawan previously served as the CEO of Infogix, a Naperville, Ill. data analytics company.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and chemistry from Coe College and a Ph.D. in engineering from Brown University, according to a news release. He takes over immediately for RNL’s founder and interim CEO Al Ruffalo.

“I have focused my career on creating impact through innovation, and I look forward to bringing this same passion to Ruffalo Noel Levitz. We will continue to find new ways to empower colleges and universities to better serve their students, alumni and communities,” Nijhawan said in the release.

Ruffalo Noel Levitz provides student enrollment and fundraising services and software to universities, colleges and not-for-profit organizations. It has about 5,650 full- and part-time employees worldwide, 675 of whom are in Cedar Rapids, a spokeswoman said.

The company was previously known as RuffaloCODY, but acquired Coralville’s Noel-Levitz in 2014 and rebranded.
