RIVERDALE season 3 has been confirmed by The CW to be returning for season 3. Here’s everything we know so far about the new series including Netflix release date, cast, plot and more.
When will Riverdale season 3 be released?
Season three has yet to get a release date from US network The CW.
Riverdale season two premiered in October 2017, which means that fans may not be waiting too long for the third cycle of the popular teen drama.
Netflix will be making episodes of Riverdale season three available in the UK the following day from 8am.
There’s been no word on how many episodes the new season and it’s hard to determine because the first run only had 13 while the current one has 22.
But given the popularity of the drama, it could be around 20 instalments.

Who will be in Riverdale season 3?
The central foursome look set to be back in the frame for a third outing.
KJ Apa will be coming back as high school jock Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart will return as girl-next-door Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, and Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones.
Riverdale is made up of a large ensemble cast of characters who supporting the main quartet.
Others likely to be back for season three of Riverdale include Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Casey Cott as Kevin Keller and Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz.

Among the adult cast members likely to be back is Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge, Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper, Luke Perry as Fred Andrews, Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge, and Skeet Ulrich as F.P. Jones II.
Of course, the cast is completely dependent on the new Black Hood not bumping off any other characters before the end of the second run.
There are also likely to be new characters brought into the mix as the world of Riverdale expands out.
On top of that, work has already started on Riverdale’s sister show the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which could lend itself to a crossover in the not-too-distant future.

What will happen in Riverdale season 3?
Again, this all comes down how season two wraps up - which will most likely be on a precarious cliffhanger.
The season one finale saw the introduction of the Black Hood mystery and Fred Andrews getting shot, leaving fans wanting more.
However, season three will be seeing the main characters dealing with new mysteries as we learn more about the characters of Riverdale and their dark secrets.
Is there a trailer for Riverdale season 3?
No is the short answer. The show has just been recommissioned and production is likely to be starting soon, if season three is going to be released in the autumn.
However, it seems that fans won’t have to wait long for some sort of teaser to be dropping after season two concludes next month.
The Riverdale season two finale is called Chapter Thirty-Five: Brave New World and is slated to be airing on May 16.
