Three men were arrested near ISBT Anand Vihar and 160 kg cannabis was seized from them, the police said today.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar said there was information that several gangs are involved in procuring cannabis from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and supplying it to drug peddlers in the national capital.
On March 31, the crime branch of Delhi police received information that some men would be coming to supply contraband to Delhi in a white car taking the Yamuna Expressway, he said.
A car was intercepted near Anand Vihar, ISBT and three persons, Salman, Saddam and Koti Ottaya were nabbed, the officer said adding 16 parcels containing 160 kg cannabis wrapped in newspapers were seized from them.
The arrested accused were involved in procuring and supplying cannabis for the last six months, the Kumar said.
