Following the box office success of Steven Spielberg's latest movie 'Ready Player One', based no the book of the same name by author Ernest Cline, Universal Studios has enlisted writers to turn another of his books, 'Armada' into a new movie.
Cline actually co-wrote the screen play for 'Ready Player One' while trying to turn it into the blockbuster that it is, and it appears he's already given himself a head start with 'Armada'.
The story follows a teenage player of online video games in which players fight against an alien invasion.
He soon discovers though, that the game is actually a simulator to prepare him and others to defend against an actual alien invasion.
Clearly a fan of video games, 'Ready Player One' is also based in an online world, although this one being a VR reality.
The movie only recently launched, eight years after the rights were bought to turn it into a film, and made an impressive $181 million dollars world wide.
Interestingly, it was planned to be made into a movie before the book was even published.
