indexIn May 1992, a visionary Las Vegas police officer named Curtis Williams had an idea that tourism in order to be successful, not only needs protection, but also regular meetings where ideas might be exchanged, and new concepts would be developed.

Curtis Williams and Peter Tarlow were able to get a small room and held the first tourism security workshop. The idea of tourism security became an important part of tourism from that time onwards. Since then, Las Vegas has held a tourism security conference for the last 26 years. This year, Vegas’ international tourism safety and security conference celebrates its 25th anniversary.

This year’s Las Vegas Conference from April 17-18, marks 25 years of tourism security.
