'One Piece' 901 Spoilers: What Really Happened To Sunny & The Straw Hat Pirates?
One Piece Chapter 901 is scheduled to release April 16, but spoilers for the next manga installment have already begun surfacing. Find out everything we know about what happens after Big Mom eats the cake and if the Whole Cake Island arc has finally reached its end, here.
The last few chapters of One Piece have been pretty intense and despite this week being an off week for the series, there’s still plenty of spoilers popping up as we wait for Chapter 901 to make its appearance. In the previous chapter, The Whole Cake Island arc appeared to be reaching its endpoint as in it we finally see Big Mom gorging herself on the cake and the Straw Hat Pirates find themselves is a world of peril. One Piece Chapter 900 Recap
Chapter 900 begins as Big Mom starts eating the cake. The majority of this chapter is taken up with scenes of Big Mom’s elation as she eats the delicious cake and sings the praises of its divine flavor, all the while mentioning that there’s something familiar about its taste -- what she cannot say. We see flashbacks to Sanji as he creates his masterpiece -- the cake that ends Big Mom’s terrible hunger and restores her fleshy form. As Charlotte Perospero realizes the cake hasn’t been poisoned, he quickly sends out a message to all the Totto Land Islands to let them know that the cake has been successful. He, however, mistakenly credits Charlotte Pudding with the cake’s success, which seems to upset the girl as she listens to the people praise her.
Meanwhile, back at sea the Straw Hat Pirates find themselves in a world of trouble. While Jinbe’s crew does open a path for the Strawhats to escape through, there escape is foiled as Oven makes a sudden angry appearance. Angered by Luffy defeating Katakuri. Oven uses his skill to heat up the waters, causing the Fisherman Pirates to falter. Soon after we see the “Queen Mama Chanter” arrive, which pleases Mont d’Or as they make their appearance just in time.

Despite all that is happening around her, Big Mom cannot stop singing the praises of the wonderful wedding cake and its rich, milky, sweet flavor. We see a memory pass before her of a birthday party long ago -- it was the last time she saw Caramel.
Meanwhile, the Germa have taken a beating and we see two mysterious new shadowed characters. One of those new characters has a big scythe is thin and tall. The other one is a large built man with a long sword. The two faces are hidden so you do not know who they are.
As Big Mom continues her merry tune, everything around her is going to shambles. The chapter heads towards its ending as a canon opens fire on the Sunny and appears to destroy it. We are left with only the image of the Straw Hat’s Jolly Roger floating on the sea.
One Piece 901 Spoilers & Predictions: Are The Straw Hats Finished? Is The Sunny Destroyed
Though the final scene of One Piece Chapter 900 seems to suggest that the Straw Hat Pirates are destroyed, we have a hard time believing the arc’s protagonists are truly done. However, it does seem possible that the Whole Cake Island arc could be completed. Though no official spoilers or scans for Chapter 901 have appeared yet, as soon as those become available, we’ll be linking them to this post. In the meantime, here are our favorite predictions or theories about what’s ahead in One Piece Chapter 901
Prediction #1: The Sunny’s Klabautermann could come and somehow rescue the Straw Hats.
Prediction #2: The Mysterious Strangers are Charlotte Snack and another Big Mom pirate.
Prediction #3: The Sunny wasn’t actually destroyed. The Sunny may well have taken damage during the final moments of chapter 900, but we think the ship may not be the one we saw go up in flames. Instead, the ship that went down was one of BIg Mom’s caught in friendly fire from the Big Mama Chanter due to Big Mom losing control of her homies. There’s a pretty convincing explanation of why this might be true, here.
